Using physical modeling and photography to evaluate form, structure, and user perspective
This scale model translated a conceptual bridge design into a physical prototype, allowing structural relationships, proportions, material choices, and spatial effects to be evaluated at a tangible scale.
The model used diagonal bracing, cantilevered elements, and repeated structural geometry to explore how individual components contribute to the overall form and spatial experience.
Photography became an additional evaluation tool, allowing the model to be studied from human-scale viewpoints and helping communicate relationships between structure, light, enclosure, and movement.
This project strengthened my ability to use prototypes as tools for evaluation rather than only presentation. Building and photographing the model helped me identify relationships that were less apparent in drawings and reinforced the value of iteration, observation, and clear visual communication.
